TOKYO
Check in at hotel in Tokyo for 2 nights. Official check in time is 15:00.
You have the rest of the day free at leisure to recharge or go out into the city for your first taste of bustling Tokyo.

DAY 2
TOKYO
Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Tokyo using metro & other public transportationincluding Asakusa temple and a stroll down the colourful Nakamise shopping arcade. Afternoon visit Meiji shrine and the Harajuku district where old and new cultures collide.

DAY 3
TOKYO – NAGANO / MATSUMOTO, KISO VALLEY / NARAI POST TOWN
We leave the metropolis of Tokyo and head by train for Narai Juku via Nagano/Matsumoto.Narai Juku is a quiet little historical post town from the Edo samurai period. From 1600 to the late 1800s the Nakasendo Way was a major trade route connecting the traditional capital Kyoto to the modern capital Edo (Tokyo) and there were 69 post towns, or Juku, along the route where weary travellers could stop for food and accommodation. Stroll through the post town whose shops and buildings are little changed from those of hundreds of years ago. Check in to a traditional inn in Narai for a unique opportunity to experience traditional Japanese hospitality and lodgings. You will be treated to a traditional Japanese dinner this evening and get to sleep Japanese style on futons.

DAY 4
NARAI – KANAZAWA
After a typical Japanese guest house breakfast this morning, we leave for the Samurai town, Kanazawa, by express train. You will spend 2 nights in Kanazawa. Today, enjoy a Kanazawa afternoon sightseeing tour, visiting Kenrokuen Gardens, Higashi-Chayagai Geisha district and Nagamachi, the samurai residential area. Check in at Hyatt House Kanazawa for 2 nights.

DAY 5
KANAZAWA – TAKAYAMA- SHIRAKAWAGO- KANAZAWA
Travel back in time to the historic town of Takayama by chartered coach and enjoy a walking tour, visiting Takayama’s famous morning market and the old streets of Sannomachi. Travel on to Shirakawago, the quaint village famous for its picturesque thatched roofed houses in the mountains and now listed as a world heritage site. Before returning to Kanazawa, you will get to try your hand at rice-paper making in Gokayama. You will then return to Kanazawa in the late afternoon.

DAY 6
KANAZAWA – KYOTO
Today you will leave for Kyoto by Bullet Train to arrive at midday. Stay in the heart of downtown Kyoto for the next 3 nights. In the afternoon, enjoy sightseeing by subways and city buses visiting Fushimi Inari a Shinto shrine, famous now for its vermillion torii gates. There we will explore the array of almost 10,000 vermilion torii gates wending their way through the hills behind Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine. You will also visit Kinkakuji, the famous Golden Pavilion.

DAY 7
KYOTO – HIROSHIMA / MIYAJIMA – KYOTO
Today you will travel to Hiroshima by Bullet Train. The full day tour includes Hiroshima Peace Park, Peace Museum and Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Dome where you can witness Hiroshima’s poignant history. You will then visit Miyajima Island, where you will see the iconic Itsukushima Shrine and its famous floating Torii gate.

DAY 8
KYOTO
This morning you will visit Nijo Castle. In the afternoon, you will visit Kiyomizu temple, perched on a cliff-side and overlooking the city. Part of the fun of visiting Kiyomizu temple is the approach to the temple along the steep and busy lanes of the enchanting Higashiyama district. You will then return to the hotel.

DAY 9
KYOTO – TOKYO
Today we return to vibrant Tokyo by Bullet Train and check in for 1 night, our last night in Japan. Afternoon is free at leisure.

TOKYO
Check out from your hotel and enjoy your last day in Japan with some last-minute sightseeing or souvenir hunting.
